Antimicrobial Efficacy of Copper-Doped Titanium Surfaces for Dental Implants

With the aim of increasing patient safety, KKS Ultraschall AG continuously invests in improving surface treatment. A long-term research concept – the antimicrobial effectiveness of copper-doped titanium surfaces for implants – has now taken the next step! In collaboration with the Department of Oral Health & Medicine at the University of Basel, an original study was published to quantify the antibacterial effect of a copper-coated titanium surface as a model for dental implants on the peri-implantitis associated strain Porphyromonas gingivalis (DSM 20709).
